Robert “Bobby” Breech; October 26, 1944- October 21, 2024; 79 years young, passed away after a short battle with cancer. He was born October 26, 1944, in Oakland, California, a son of the late Charles “Glenn” Breech and Theresa Dell Breech, Brother of the late Joann Breech-Jones-Guenther. Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Gloria Lee Breech, his parents, Charles & Theresa and his sister, Joann. His children survive him: Brian Christopher, Debra Leanne, her husband Steven, Jonathan Peter, his wife Cheryl & Melissa Suzanne. Loving Grandfather to Andrew, Xander, Noelle, and Isabella. Brother Jim, step sister Cindy, step brother Willard, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A native of California, he graduated from Sacramento High School in 1962 and then went on to serve 3 ½ Years in the Air Force, when he was honorably discharged. He then returned to Sacramento to where he would go on to attend Sacramento City College, getting his associate’s degree. After graduating, he went on to work for the State of California’s Controller’s Office as a computer operator. He retired in 2006 after being employed with the state for 39 years.

Bob enjoyed watching all types of sports, but football was his favorite. Bob became a diehard Cincinnati Bengals fan when his brother, Jim, played for them. He was an avid bowler in his younger years with the St. Mary’s church bowling league. He played in a softball league while working for the state and was involved in fantasy football leagues since the early 80s.

Bob enjoyed plenty of travel in his later years. He went to Ireland, Hawaii & Alaska, to name a few places. His favorite destination was Camp Sacramento. He was a lifelong “camper”, along with his family, and spent more than 40 summers at Camp Sacramento. This was his solace, where he could relax and be himself. He also loved playing cribbage with his children or whoever else would play.

“When you die, it does not mean that you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and in the manner in which you live.” ~Stuart Scott
